Frequently Asked Questions
35+ years of experience means we've heard every question. Here are the ones event planners ask us most.
Is the show appropriate for all ages, including high school students?
Absolutely. All of our stage hypnosis shows are 100% clean, school-appropriate, and family-friendly. No adult content, no embarrassing moments — just incredible entertainment your entire audience will love. It's why schools, proms, and colleges trust us year after year.
How long is a typical stage hypnosis show?
Most shows run between 60 and 90 minutes — plenty of time for a full, unforgettable experience without losing your audience. We also offer shorter 45-minute formats for events with tighter schedules. Just let us know your timing when you reach out and we'll make it work.
How far in advance should I book?
It depends on the event — many clients book 4 to 6 months in advance to secure their date. Prom season is a great example: schools start locking in their entertainment as early as August, and many come back year after year requesting the same performer. If your event has a specific date or a favorite hypnotist in mind, we always recommend reaching out sooner rather than later.
Do your performers travel nationwide?
Yes — our stage hypnotists perform coast to coast. With 35+ years in the business and hundreds of shows booked annually, we've brought the experience to Fortune 500 companies, colleges, and high schools all across the country. Wherever your event is, we can be there.
Should I arrange for people to volunteer in advance?
Not at all — and please don't! One of the most magical parts of a stage hypnosis show is that volunteers come forward naturally from your audience. Our performers are experts at inviting participation in a way that feels fun and pressure-free. You'll be surprised how many hands go up. All you need to bring is your audience — we take care of everything else.
How many volunteers do you need for a stage hypnosis show?
It depends on the size of your room and your audience — and that's a conversation we love having before every show.
We've produced shows for audiences of over 5,000 people in grand ballrooms where 80 volunteers filled the stage. We've also delivered incredible, intimate shows for much smaller groups. The size of the audience shapes the scale of the experience, and our performers know how to work both ends of that spectrum.
That said, most of our stage hypnotists will request 30 chairs on stage as a starting point. That number comes from years of experience — it was actually the golden rule of our founder Jim Wand, who believed 30 was the perfect number to create an unforgettable show regardless of room size. It's a tradition that has carried through to how we work today.
Ultimately this is something you'll discuss directly with your performer before the event so everyone is comfortable and the show is set up for success from the moment the first volunteer sits down.
Our prom runs late — what if the students are exhausted by the time the show starts?
This is actually where a stage hypnosis show has a secret advantage. A skilled hypnotist doesn't wait for the energy to come to them — they bring it. Our performers are experienced at reading a late-night prom crowd and know exactly how to wake a room up fast.
And here's something that surprises most people: a little tiredness actually works in a hypnotist's favor. Relaxed audiences are more open, more willing to participate, and the show ends up being even funnier. By the end of the night your students will be wide awake, on their feet, and talking about it all the way home.
How much does a stage hypnosis show cost?
The honest answer is — it depends on the performer, the event, and what you're looking for. Stage hypnosis pricing reflects a lot of factors: experience, travel, show length, and the specific needs of your audience.
Think of it like hiring a musician. A solo acoustic act and a full band both make great music — but they're priced differently because they deliver a different experience. Neither is wrong. It just depends on what your event calls for.
At Wand Enterprises we represent a talented roster of performers nationwide, and part of what we do is match the right act to the right event. When you call us we'll talk through your event, your audience, and what you want people to walk away feeling — and we'll find you the perfect fit.
The best first step is always a conversation. Reach out and let's find the right performer for you.
Are your performers insured?
Absolutely. Every performer on the Wand Enterprises roster carries full insurance — that's non-negotiable for us and should be non-negotiable for any event planner booking entertainment.
But insurance is honestly the minimum standard. What sets our performers apart goes much deeper than that. The majority of our stage hypnotists trained under Jim Wand himself. That means they didn't just learn the craft — they learned what it means to represent an agency that has stood for excellence for over 35 years.
Jim had a way of doing things, a standard he held every performance to, and the people who trained under him carry that with them every time they step on stage. When you book through Wand Enterprises you're not just getting a covered, professional performer. You're getting someone who understands what this agency represents and takes that responsibility seriously.
Why book through an agency rather than directly with a performer?
Because we've been on both sides of that phone call.
At Wand Enterprises, many of us have performed on stage ourselves. We understand what a hypnotist needs to deliver their best show — the right room setup, the right audience briefing, the right expectations. When you work with us you're not talking to someone reading from a script. You're talking to people who have lived this industry from the inside.
And we had the rare privilege of learning from the very best. Wand Enterprises was built by Jim Wand — one of the most respected names in stage hypnosis entertainment. For over 35 years Jim ran an operation that became the gold standard in the industry. Ask anyone who worked with him, saw him perform, or booked a show through him — not one person will tell you anything other than that he was exceptional in every sense of the word.
That legacy is what drives everything we do today. The standards he set, the relationships he built, and the reputation he earned over 35 years are the foundation this agency stands on.
When you book through Wand Enterprises you get that depth of experience, that insider knowledge, and that commitment to excellence — working for you, on your event, every single time.
